Mette - now without sunglasses |
When Mette on an au pair
stay in the U.S. read the novel "The Shack", she had a feeling that she had been living with sunglasses throughout her life, but now got them off and for
the first time in her life she was able to see clear.
Actually he was pretty
nice and very sweet, the familydad in Mette's German friend's au pair
family, so when he talked about the novel "The Shack" as a book, it was worth
reading, Mette decided to do just that.
»Then I would have something I
could talk with him about«, she laughs.
The incident took place a
year ago, while Mette was an au pair in USA. Back then she was like
many Danes when it came to faith and religion: It was not something that
played a significant role in her life.
»But I was
crying in the three days it took me to read The Shack. It all became very clear
to me while I was reading. There was something
inside me. I just knew that there is
only one God and that he is fantastic and then I started talking to
him. I felt as if I had
sunglasses on throughout life and only now could see clearly«, she
says.

DPBC shows the way from Kenya to Denmark |
Lars-Ole, age 20, is currently on Stream 1 on DPBC. Lars-Ole grew up in Kenya and wanted an entry into the Danish culture, studying for a bachelor and to grow as a spiritual man. He is pleasantly surprised by the quality of teaching and the openness he experienced regarding the spiritual side of the school.
Entrenched missionary child
Lars-Ole is probably closest to what is called a missionary child. He moved to Kenya with his parents as a 1-year old and lived there until recently. His parents, David and Birgitte Pedersen, are missionaries in Kenya. Their ministry is to build churches in kitset form, which is used in southern Sudan, Kenya and Uganda.

God spoke so strongly to me that I could no longer ignore it |
|
Prayson is a quiet 24-year-old young man from Tanzania who attends DPBC, now on Stream 2 He has seen how God has revealed Himself through teaching at DPBC, a school stay which has been made possible by the school’s Support Club.
Faith was head-knowledge
Prayson grew up in a good family. His parents worked with the missionaries Tabitha & Torkild Jensen. Through their work with Tabitha and Torkild, Prayson saw the need to help others, but this was without a religious belief. Prayson believed in God in his head, but not in heart.
Yet, the Jensen family saw something in Prayson and gave him the opportunity to attend DPBC. They believed that if he was given a chance, God will do the rest - and did He ever!
