| Heart pain healed on the bible college hospital |

 For Iben Holm-Petersen from Vanløse the trip to Mariager was more than a year on college. Heart pain was cured during her stay at
the bible college hospital. She now has started setting goals for her life
and has gained a greater confidence in her belief in God. Iben is now back in Copenhagen, where she attends Kirken I Kulturcenteret. But she still has warm thoughts of the time in Mariager. »My two-year stay at the Bible school has meant the world to me,« she says without hesitation. »When I arrived at college, I was the middle of a depression. I had a psyche that was "locked in", I was full of negative thoughts and feelings, and had deep heart pains.« From performance personality to love identity Teachers and students, a willing heart, and faith led Iben through a long process. From a life of lies to a life of truth, from darkness to light, from despair to hope and not least from the performance personality to love identity. »The stay has meant, that I dared to look at all the ugly thoughts and feelings in me, accept them and ask God for help to deal with them. I have been in the process of forgiveness so I'm now capable of forgiving myself and others.« Teaching an essential part of the transformation »One of the most crucial changes in my life has happened through the teaching in the theological issue justification. Knowing and seeing that I as a Christian is justified, has been epoch-making. I have received a divine identity in Christ.« Iben breaks out in a happy "Halleluja!" and continues enthusiastically: "God sees me in the light of Jesus Christ and what he has done in his death and resurrection - and not because of myself. I have learned to distinguish between who I am in myself, and who I am in Jesus. Now I keep the the things separated it separated in faith and it gives me a greater identity of rest. It can be difficult to explain to others, but our teacher education Anders Ova gave me, has been healing for me. " Help to grow a stronger character  The teacher, who coaches Iben, has been a valuable support for her development. »For the first time, I have goals for my life, that I'm going for - by God's grace. I have taken responsibility for areas in my life, that previously lying around. In the process, I have involved my coach and the student friend, I have shared life with - we call it our "life transformation partner". All these things has meant, that I have developed a stronger and healthier character. ' Depending on God in the ongoing healing process Iben realizes that she even after "discharge" from the bible hospital, as she calls it, is in a continuing medical healing process. »The main experiences is that God is with me and never fails. God has led me into a closer partnership with him. My response to his love is a growing love, trust, faith, surrender and obedience. I am totally dependent on him, even in my ongoing healing process.« |
