Simon Linde is leading the G-Next, the elective on Danish
Pentecostal Bible College with a focus on teenagers and young people.
He is passsionate about training new leaders and co-workers to work
with the next generation. G-Next G-Next. An elective with a focus on teenagers and young people. Who should teach it, if not Simon Linde - former youth pastor and former school teacher? "The important thing for me is to get connected to local churches on the elective. We want to raise and train teen- and youth leaders and workers", says Simon. "G-Next is for those who have heart for teenagers and young people and want to get involved in their lives and want to be a role model - and believes they has something to offer", he says. It is not a must that you are an established teen- and youth workers/worker if you want to be part of the G-Next. That's a matter of training, Simon says. "One must simply be willing to share your life, heart to heart. That is what many teenagers and young people is longing for - anyone who will listen. The heart is vital if one chooses G-Next - and you do not have a leader gene to be here. We will train both leaders and workers", he says. Room for practice ![]() The theoretical part of the G-Next will be about the fundamentals: Why at all have a teenage- and youth ministry? Why take part in a volunteer work? How do you communicate relevant and understandable in the context in which teenagers and young people find themselves? How do you get new ideas? How to implement ideas? How to start things from scratch? "And then it's about leadership and limited amount about counseling and coaching in relation to teenagers and young people. You wil get to try it all in the safe setting of a local churches that we work with, so the students will get some practical experience and be given the space to test themselves", explains Simon. Additionally, students at G-Next jointly work on a project, such as might be happening in conjunction with a local church. Go for it Simon has a feeling that the number of teenage- and youth leaders in churches is becoming smaller and smaller, and this is a development he would like to reverse. "It is so important that we reach the next generation and have some leaders who have heart for teenagers and young people. If you have just a tiny feeling, that you might like to work with this - then you should prioritize it! It's about priorities - I think we should test it out and go for it", he declares. |
