Out of the frying pan into the fire
master_2.jpgSeveral free church pastors and leaders are now in the second course in the Master in Ministry, which Harvest Bible College offers in cooperation with Mariager College and the International Apostolic College. The interest in the degree is increasing, although the students has been challenged by education level.

Students out of the frying pan into the fire
Leif Petterson, teacher at Danish Pentecostal Bible College, is responsible for the academic training. We asked him how things is coming along with the first Master Course. Has the free church pastors moved from talk to work?

"The first course challenged, among other things, the pastors to create a strategic plan for their church or organization. Moreover, they should submit an essay of 25 sources, and participate in an ongoing online discussion with the topic of strategic management. "
"We will therefore not sleeping for things, and several pastors had to skip because of excessive workload. We will mention no names," Leif laughs,"but each had their own challenge."

Master education have increased awarenessmaster_3.jpg
That has not prevented more students to join the Master degree, says Leif.
"Interest is steadily increasing, which we welcome. But most of all, we are delighted that people are equipped to lead people and build churches in a social context, which is increasingly secular and separate from the church."
"The training is not only theoretical and abstract, but practical and missionalt oriented,"says Leif Petterson, who himself is struggling with a Master thesis of Spurgeon's College in London.

Tonny Jacobsen teacher on the next course
The next course is held from 2. to 6. February 2009 and is about how to share the gospel in a postmodern context. Teacher is Tonny Jacobsen, who is an expert in the field, particularly because he has made a study for his doctorate in the subject.
